If any of you electric violin players are, or know someone who is, interested in a collaborative piece of work, and has access to some way to make mid to high quality digital recordings of their work, please message me either here or at my email account at leadfoot000@msn.com.

Check out my website at www.acidplanet.com/leadfoot to see what style of music I do. Generally eclectic, mainly psytrance oriented.

Leadfoot~ I'm listening to your work on acidplanet.. Fine stuff, well built..
I love mixing violin in with electronica. Either in the mix or live on top loaded with FX. (Have dabbled with this some here in Eugene or with friends in Portland).
Unfortunately, I don't have copies of this stuff or the means to send it if I did. (And I'm busy as hell with various projects).
So this is sorta a long-winded decline to collaborate with ya! But I'm jazzed that you're thinking violin in your stuff - just had to say 'right on' to that idea.
  • Check some stuff I do in one of my project's site
    www.thepurefire.com
    I've listened to your music....

It lacks melody ....but otherwise it exactly as you put it - psytrance.

I have a question - what exactly is music you do is for?
    Clubs? Parties?....Events?

Your stuff is not "weird" at all...it's pretty commercial, nothing out of ordinary...
I have done a true avant garde music, sometime ago, now that stuff was weird....

Is your idea of collaboration means a I send you/you send me/mix the two kind of thing?

You got to be more specific.

I mean - I get approached by people everyday on the account of their interest in collaborating with me.
Since some time it has been that way, and not the other way around.
I prefer to concentrate on my own music though,...I still collaborate with others if I like their music, and frankly - I get paid for that.

Now there are "millions" of electric violin players all over, actually.
There are not rare.....I'm sure there are plenty of those where you live...

The only problem is, as I see it - 90% of them are pure "crap"..
who think that by plugging the violin in the tons of effects makes them genius...
in fact - I'be been living in four countries - turning in the circles of the "top musicianship crowd", I've heard only one or two electric violinists, who actually deliver.

But ultimately it all depends on what you're looking for - if its just couple of notes played, and you repeat them in a loop - I think even a child would be able to do it...

but if you want a "Robert Fripp" of a violinist - you wont find that one, most probably. Slim chance.

Because that kind of talent is already employed
(if it even does exist in a number over "10" for the whole planet)....
    :=)
    good luck
    • As far as what I was looking for (sorry for no reply for so long, for some reason I never got notified that this tribe had been updated), basicically what I was thinking is someone making a violin melody, sending me the work, I'd put some beats and some synths and some other stuff on top of it, then send it back, and they'd see what they could do with it past that, then send it back to me and I'd put the finishing touches on it, remaster it and violá, violin trance ;-)

And commercial? Yeah I suppose it is semi-commercial. What the music is for is for personal enjoyment of the creation of sound. Hopefully someday I would like to be employed in this field, so I suppose the music is for clubs. Ive just recently gotten into this whole thing, so I haven't quite found my niché yet.
